It Was All A Dream- A Boudoir Picnic
It Was All a Dream
Hey, fellow photogs! Let’s talk styled sessions for a minute…DO THEM. Just do them. They are worth it. They will inspire you. They will challenge you. They will better you as a business owner and communicator. Just do them, k?
Now that that’s outta the way, I’m gonna tell you all about this dreamy little session that went down in Nowhere, TX last week. I originally got inspired after finding a vintage picnic basket in my in-laws’ attic. I looked at it, it looked at me and fate took place right before my eyes. What can I say? When ya know, ya know! I began imagining, as one does whenever looking at dusty wicker, soft, pale tones, golden light, and curly hair. I’m not sure why curly hair was important but for me it was a must in the search for the right model. Enter Ray. Ray is a friend and past client of mine. I photographed her bridal boudoir a year ago and it was magic. She is laid back, comfy in front of the camera, and has legs for dayyyyys, y’all! She was a great fit to say the least. Madison with Mosaic Beauty in Amarillo came down for the session with willing hands and an enthusiastic heart. She and I had collaborated about my vision discussing dewy makeup and shagadelic locks! She added in some pearls to emphasize the soft, delicate feel of this session and it was worth all of the failed attempts to get those babies to stick, let me tell ya! People will be finding tiny, face pearls in that studio for years to come, HA! Now, that’s how you leave your mark!
Anywho, it was a beautiful (earlyyyy) morning filled with creativity, passion, and lotsa laughter and coffee. This little team was nothing short of a masterpiece and I am thankful for their willingness to have some fun with me.
