Client Session: Liz
Liz
Kind. Adventurous. Vibrant. Artist.
Liz wanted to book her session as a wedding gift to her future hubby. In her initial emails, she mentioned that she wanted her photos to feel elegant and timeless. We collaborated on a satin blush set for one of her outfits to convey a true Hollywood glam feeling in her final gallery. What I love about Liz’s session is that she had the best of both worlds: vintage glam & modern boudoir. I made sure to use soft, diffused light for the vintage feel and short, moody light for a sleeker, more modern look. During Liz’s hair and makeup session, I asked her if she wanted to get a little weird at the end of her shoot to which she responded, “Umm, YES!”. I informed her that I had an idea that may or may not work but it was definitely worth a shot! My vision was to incorporate a spotlight featuring a pair of tulle gloves that she had brought with her to her session. I just so happened to have a couple of yards of satin fabric at the studio that I hung behind her with gaff tape to give more depth to her images. Low and behold, this part of her session delivered arguably her favorite images of the day! This acts as a reminder to all you photogs out there to try different concepts in your sessions! Sure, they may not turn out the way you thought, but what if they come out nothing short of MAGIC?
Enjoy, friends!
